Transforming an Outdated Kitchen
The renovation of a rear portion of this house in suburban Chicago transformed a small, out-of-date kitchen into a light-filled, loft-like space for family meals and entertaining friends. The new kitchen features a large island with seating, breakfast area, closet and mudroom. Interior butler's stairs were added at the rear of the house so that the kitchen and back door can be accessed from the second floor without passing through the living room.
