A Major Renovation
Owning an older home can be a love-hate relationship: love the character and charm of the house, hate the chopped-up rooms that impede the flow and utility of space for today's active families. This renovation eliminated the maze of walls between the kitchen, dining and family rooms to create an open but connected space with contemporary functionality. Modern appliances, upscale finishes and exquisite detailing create an elegant and highly functional kitchen. A vaulted ceiling contributes to the stately proportions of the library. An addition to the house reoriented the entrance to establish a more defined and welcoming entry and courtyard, and transforms the house's public side into a stately manor.
